Prior to the event

Participants are responsible for their own medical condition. If you are in any doubt about your fitness you must contact your doctor before signing up for the event. Anyone suffering from any relevant medical conditions, illnesses or disabilities must let it be known at the time of booking, and anytime thereafter if their situation changes.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have the required fitness levels to undertake the event. By returning your registration document and registration fee you are confirming that you have consulted your doctor (where necessary) to confirm you are able to take on this challenge. It is entirely your responsibility to obtain this and Advocate Events accept no responsibility should you fail to obtain the appropriate doctor’s approval to undertake the challenge.

On The Event

You agree that Advocate Events and our partners are not liable for any loss, damage, personal injury or death as a result of participating in the event and you personally accept the risks involved in the challenge.

Due to the nature of outdoor activities a certain element of risk is inherent. Advocate Events and associated partners reserve the right to cancel or change the route for safety reasons should climatic or any other unforeseen circumstances deem this necessary. Their decision is final and no refund or alternative event will be offered.

If circumstances within our control end or curtail the climbs you will be offered an alternative date to complete entirely free of charge.

The Mountain Leader will make a decision regarding your on-going health and fitness during the event to ensure a safe environment for all entrants. In the unlikely event you are deemed unfit to continue with the event you will be advised accordingly. The decision of our staff is final.

Advocate Events will be organising this event following best practice guidelines and health and safety standards.

Participants must agree to abide by the decision of Advocate Events’ staff and associated partners. Any participant who acts against the requests of the guiding staff is no longer deemed part of this challenge and become outside the realm of responsibility of the event staff.

Advocate Events and associated partners reserve the right to refuse any participant and/or team on the day of the event where they reasonably believe their presence may have a detrimental effect on the quality or safety of the event. Should such a situation occur the charity shall retain all sponsorship monies unless directly requested by the donor to return them, in which case we will refund each individual directly.

By taking part all participants confirm they are happy for any photographs taken during this event to be used by Advocate Events to publicise events and Advocate Events generally.

Your event is covered with both public and employers liability insurance. We are not responsible for any loss or damage incurred as a result of you or your party not following safety guidance and advice, or any reckless behaviour, or for loss or damage to your personal possessions.
You will be entering the challenge at your own risk and agree that Advocate Events and associated partners shall not be liable for any injury or loss that might occur as a result of participation.
We recommend participants take out their own UK travel insurance to cover them for the duration of this event in respect of the above.
Your insurance should be in place when you register to participate so you are able to make a claim for the costs we have paid out on your behalf and take a place on a future event.

You are responsible for achieving your fundraising target of £2000. In order to complete the challenge it is important that you commit to achieving this figure. Advocate Events reserve the right to cancel your participation should you have not paid the required amount of event fee and charity fundraising by the dates stated in the payment section above.

Please find below answers to some of the most frequently asked questions...please do not hesitate to contact should your question not be in the list below.

How fit should I be?
This challenge is a full on, mentally and physically exhausting event, but fantastically exciting and exhilarating. There is an element of keeping on the move with limited time to stop and enjoy your surroundings but a fantastic feeling of achievement when the event is completed.
You will need to be extremely fit. This is the most demanding and gruelling event we have ever organised as a company. It is imperative that you undertake a serious amount of training to be able to participate.

If you have pre-existing injuries or medical conditions we strongly recommend that you visit your GP to ensure you are able to undertake the challenge.
Can I take my dog on the challenge?
Unfortunately not...whilst we are dog lovers here at Advocate Events and are working on dog related events we have to consider all participants who may not wish to share a minibus with our canine friends!
What support is available for this event?
Advocate Events staff will meet you at the agreed pickup point and will be with you for the duration of the event. Our Mountain Leaders are fully qualified, vastly experienced and great company. They are also trained First Aiders. You will also have full support on the ground during the event. Advocate Events staff have organised and participated in many similar challenges so rest assured you are in safe hands! Although the event is designed to challenge you, we will not put anyone’s safety at risk and support will be available at all times. The Advocate Events team is on hand every step of the way, to help and advise you. We will also accompany you on your return to an agreed drop off point after your challenge.
How many people will I be walking with?
This will depend on the number of climbers that sign up for the challenge. Each group is allocated a guide/s. There are no fast or slow groups and everyone comes off the mountain as a group.
How high are the mountains?
Snowdon 1085m
Crib y Ddysgl – 1065m
Carnedd Llewelyn – 1064m
Scafell Pike – 978m
Scafell – 964m
Helvellyn – 950m
Ben Nevis – 1345m
Ben Macdui – 1309m
Braeriach – 1296m
Are there toilet facilities on the mountains?
There are facilities at the base of Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis and a cafe at the top of Snowdon (if open). If you are caught short on the mountains our guides will discreetly show you where to go!
What is the terrain like?
All the mountains have well defined paths up to the respective summits, however for the most part they are steep and uneven and made up of steep steps cut into the mountainside for the best part of the climbs. All are fairly well defined in clear conditions but people do get lost in mist or darkness.
Will I be climbing or walking?
With the exception of a small section of Scafell Pike that you may have to use your hands as support in order to scramble up and down, all the routes you will undertake are on well-marked paths.
How will I get there?
You will be responsible for getting to the agreed pick up point on your first day and home from an agreed point at the end of your challenge. All transport from the first agreed pickup point, between the mountains and to the final drop off point is arranged for you. Advocate Event staff will be there to meet you at the agreed pickup point.
What is the accommodation like?
We will stay in comfortable accommodation. You will be sharing a room with an ensuite-bathroom. Rooms are twin and double occupancy. There are a small number of single rooms which carry single supplement charges, should one be requested. Rooms are based on single sex occupancy; couples where possible will be kept together. As our challenge date approaches we will ask you whether there is someone in particular that you would like to share a room with.
What weather can I expect?
As with any outdoor event, we are unable to predict the weather so each participant must be prepared for all eventualities. You will need to carry full wet weather gear and warm layers with you on the day of the challenge. The weather conditions at the bottom of the mountains may be vastly different to what we can expect at the top. In the past we have encountered everything from sunshine, snow and rain. A detailed weather forecast will be provided for us during the safety briefing before your ascent. Should there be adverse weather conditions, we reserve the right to cancel or change the route for safety reasons.
